Class Information - Ballet Dance

Ballet, a seemingly timeless form of dance races, its origins to Renaissance Court spectacles in Italy. During the reign of Louis XIV in France Ballet came to its own. The French ballet de cour refined the form, which consisted of social dances performed by the nobility in tandem with music, speech, verse, song, pageant, decor and costume.

Ballet is an artistic dance form performed as a theatrical entertainment, or an interlude, by a number of persons, often mixing pantomime and dancing. A highly disciplined and skillful art, Ballet is truly a thing of beauty and an impressive visual delight.
