Choosing A Dance Class

These factors should be considered when deciding on what dance class to take.

  • What type of dance class are you interested in taking?
  • What is the purpose / need for the class?
    • · Is it a passionate desire to perform?
      • · Serious dance requires serious discipline and effort?.
    • · Do you want to dance on air at your wedding?
    • · Do you want to dance like a pro at the club?
    • · Is dancing a fun addition to your fitness program?
  • What is your musical preference?
    • · Does the dance that you want to learn include that?
  • Will the chosen dance form be useful outside of class?
  • What is the size and frequency of the desired class?
    • · Is the teacher / student ration sufficient?
      • · Young students and advanced classes require more instructor attention.
    • · Is the sufficient one on one time?
    • · Are there times available for group practices?
  • Proper technique is very important in both serious and recreational forms of dance.
    • · Is safety stressed?
    • · Proper form? (crucial to a fulfilling experience)
  • What will it cost to reach the desired dance skill level?
