Nix Performing Arts Center - Our Staff

Karen Katayama Fox has studied under the tutelage of Yasuki Sasa, Reiko Oda, Rod Fukino, and Michael Sanders, but received most of her training from the late ballet master, Nolan Dingman, a student of the great George Balanchine. Karen continues to dance professionally with Ballet Hawaii, Hawaii State Ballet and Hawaii Ballet Theater. Her twenty-plus years of professional dancing include performances in The Nutcracker, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Scherazade, Tarantella, and Irish Suite. Under Pacific Youth Ballet, Karen teaches Ballet IV at NIXPAC.
